DescriptionAdorable and in immaculate vintage condition! - This is a fabulous Art Deco example of the wonderful butterfly jewellery by Thomas L. Mott of England - this is a gorgeous piece a beautiful wing fabulously set to a sterling silver large oval shaped brooch marked as Sterling and bearing the TLM Mark (see pics) - measuring c. 1.5" inch diameter wide on the oval, it is a larger than average piece - Depicting tranquil paradise scene with a red sailed yacht in the distance - reverse painted under the clear glass cover. - a delicate fine example - nice, bright vibrant colours to the wing, indeed as good as I have seen in a long time - this is an adorable piece and it will delight the most discerning of collectors. Thomas Mott (TLM) exhibited his beautiful reversepainted butterfly wing jewellery at the British Empire Exhibition of 1924. His company was the largest producer of butterfly wing jewelry in the 1920"s/1930"s. Becoming a favourite accessory of the Art Deco period, these pieces are now becoming highly sought after and collected.
